The general purpose FEM–Framework iMOOSE
iMOOSE is a general purpose application framework for the development of Finite Element solvers and related tools. It mainly focuses on electromagnetic problems arising from the design of electrical machines. The iMOOSE package contains solvers for the 2D and 3D calculation of static, time–harmonic and transient electromagnetic as well as static and transient thermal fields. The post–processing module is called iMOOSE.trinity. By means of either an interactive GUI or a powerful python based scripting language, it allows 3D visualization of e.g. the magnetic field and the current density distribution. It offers the user the possibility to make arbitrary cuts and to evaluate derivatives and integrations of the simulated fields. Additional integral quantities such as torque, forces and fluxes can be computed.
