Propagation of uncertainties across electromagnetic models
A major reason of the renewed interest for stochastic methods is the recent progress in numerical simulations tools. Uncertainties arising from technical tolerances on the geometry, the materials or the loads are no longer negligible with respect to the discretisation and modelling errors. They become apparent in the results of the analysis and hence an obstacle against further improvements of simulation techniques. Due to these reasons this project’s goal is to include the described uncertainties into the current simulation process. The ultimate goal is to determine the influence of error sizes as they arise in the production process. This final result will allow to quantify for instance the influence of production process deviation to target design parameters as torque or induced voltage.
