Assessment of the energy efficiency of alternative processes and process chains (BEAT)
Rising prices on the international energy and commodity market make the efficient handling with ressources to a central challenge for the manufacturing industrie. By a further increase of energy and commodity prices, the production of standart-products can be profitable again for high-wage countries with a gentle use of this ressources. Inside the project BEAT, wich is aided by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the ressource consumption in the metalworking industry will be identified and evaluated. Further a method for an holistic balance of technology chains will be developed and field-testet. With the data acquisition, the forecast model and technology chain evaluation arrangemets will be derived which can be applied to the general metalworking industry.
