Life expectancy and reliability analysis of electrical drives


The institute developes estimation strategies for reliability analyses of electrical drives. Characteristic parameters are the drive design and the actual operation of the electric device. Based on the desing, critical components can be identified that are exposed to mechanical wear and electric and thermal aging. For instance, if both a regular exchange of bearings of a low voltage drive and the aging of the winding insulation are considered, a reliabilty functions can be calculated.
