Comparison of Different Electric Machines
A methodology to a fair comparison of different types of electrical machines is developed at IEM. The compared electric machines (induction machine, permanent magnet synchronous machine) are designed with identical volume and thermal loading. A basis of the comparison are utilization numbers. The utilization number calculated for each electric machine, based on analytical and numerical approach. Construction of the considered machines and measurements on the test bench are planned in order to make plausible the methodology.
