The bearing test bench at IEM is used to generate data for the design of a diagnostic system for the detection of bearing damage by means of the stator current signature analysis. This test bench consists of a drive motor, a bearing device and a magnetic brake for the application of a load torque. The bearing device is used for the analysis of rolling bearings with different damages. The test bearing is built in a sleeve for the centering of the bearing in the housing. The shaft is fixed with two support bearings to compensate a possible deflection in load case. Due to this modular design, the test bearing can be analyzed under radial and axial load conditions. A load mechanism is included in the housing of the bearing device for applying a radial force to the bearing.
