eSAT
The goal of the research project EFRE-eSAT (OP EFRE Funding no.: EFRE-0801691; AZ LeitmarktAgentur ML-2-2-018J ESAT), is to develop an aircraft which can be used as a shuttle service. The aircraft is characterized by its particularly low noise emissions and the use of a hybrid electric drive train. The aircraft is to be used as an on-demand service for up to four passengers. It will use the large number of airfields to ensure short overall travel times. In order for the population to accept the increase in air traffic, a significant reduction in aircraft noise emissions must be achieved through the aircraft design. In this context, the use of electric machines in the take-off phase is of decisive importance in addition to encapsulating the fans. The design and calculation of the electrical machines is carried out at the IEM. The design and calculation of the electrical machines is carried out at the IEM. The iMOOSE / pyMOOSE electromagnetic solver developed at the institute is used, which is embedded in a design environment for electric machines.
