New Employee at IEM: Alexander Kern


The IEM welcomes a new employee. Mr. Alexander Kern starts his work as a research associate from 02.11.2020. His research focus will be in the field of wind turbines.

Alexander Kern received the M.Sc. RWTH degree in electrical engineering, information technology and computer engineering from the RWTH Aachen University, Aachen, Germany, in September 2020. In December 2018, Mr. Kern finished his bachelor thesis at our institute and was ongoing employed as a student assistant until September 2019. In context of his master thesis with the topic “Study of electromagnetic forces at static and dynamic air gap deformations in direct-drive generators in wind turbines” he received a scholarship of the IDEA League. From November 2020, Alexander Kern is research associate at our institute.
