Excursion week 2019Copyright: IEM
In June of this year, the IEM offered 30 participants the opportunity to go on a week-long trip to Southern Germany to get to know various companies in the electrical engineering sector, including companies in the Bad Neustadt, Dingolfing, Herzogenaurach and Frankfurt areas.
On the first day, the students were able to gain many interesting impressions of rotor and stator production processes through informative presentations and long factory tours at the Siemens plant in Bad Neustadt . The next morning we visited BMW in Dingolfing. There the students gained a lot of knowledge about automobiles and their production through an extensive factory tour.
During the visit to Schaeffler in Herzogenaurach, the participants took a look at the production steps of the complex manufacturing process from individual parts to the finished vehicle. On the same day, a guided tour of Nuremberg took place, allowing the students to experience the old town and history of Nuremberg.
Finally, VACUUMSCHMELZE in Frankfurt presented its strategy for the production of soft and hard magnetic electrical steel strips. During the factory tour, numerous questions from the students were answered, enabling them to actively deal with the complex interrelationships of this technology sector.
All companies have put together interesting programs for the students on the respective subject areas.
The IEM would like to thank the companies and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering for making this exciting excursion possible and we are delighted that the participants chose the IEM. We wish the participants much success in their future careers and hope that the excursion could make its contribution through many lasting memories.
