Electric Drives and Steel Sheets
The Institute of Electrical Machines aims to achieve a technological advantage in electric motor production for automotive application. Therefore, innovative manufacturing technologies of electric drive components are investigated. IEM collaborates with an industrial partner to combine production technology expertise with academic experiences in electric machine design. The desired competitive advantage should be based on economical production technologies with outstanding product performance.
Rotor technologies with laminated sheets and tabular shafts are studied. The analysis includes soft magnetic material characterization influenced by cutting techniques, rotor cooling concepts and electric machine design and testing.
