Propagation of Uncertainties across Electromagnetic Models
Within the scope of this DFG transfer project the sensitivity of manufacturing tolerances on the output values of electrical machines are investigated. The aim of the project is the development of a method to evaluate the influence of manufacturing tolerances on the output quantities of the machine and to derive recommendations for a robust machine design.
Therefore, besides the allocation and modelling of tolerances, electromagnetic and structural dynamic FE calculations are performed. Furthermore, electromagnetic forces ale calculated with a transient model, that are relevant for the stochastical analysis. To obtain a significant sensitivity analysis, the polynomial-chaos metamodeling is utilized. The methodology is investigated in detail.
In the last step improvement suggestions are acquired for the machine optimization, the tolerance allocation and the reliability of electrical machines.
