Content of the project found by the German Research Foundation (DFG) is the simulation of electromagnetic fields by using model order reduction (MOR) techniques. By utilizing MOR routines, the system that has to be solved, can be
reduced while keeping a previously defined accuracy. The research of the feasibility and the numerical properties of the Proper Generalized Decomposition (PGD) related to the Finite Element Method (FEM) and the magnetic vector
and scalar potential formulation is the main focus of the project. The PGD is based on a tensor decomposition of the solution space, for example in space and time. Linear material parameters such as the permanent magnet remanence as an additional parameter can be included into the decomposition as well.
